Privacy notice

Who we are

PixelRidge Web ("we") is a company registered in Nepal. Registered address: Ward No. 4, Bansgadhi Municipality, Bardiya, Lumbini Province 21800, Nepal. We decide how the personal information described here is used (we are its "controller"). For anything about privacy, email info@pixelridgeweb.com.

What we collect

  • What you send us. When you use a form on this site (contact, Launch Check, security scan, compliance checker or a short “email me” box), we store what you type: your name, email, business, country, website or app address, what you need and your message, and whether you ticked a permission box.
  • Scan and check results. When you run one of our free tools, we process the web address you enter and the results of the check. If you then ask us to follow up, the results are saved with your enquiry.
  • Where the enquiry came from. The country your connection comes from (from your IP address, which we do not store with the enquiry), the page you sent it from, the website that sent you here and any campaign tags in the link you followed.
  • Emails and messages. Emails you exchange with us, and messages on platforms such as Upwork if you contact us there.
  • Business contact details. We sometimes email businesses whose work email address is published on their own website or a public business listing, about services relevant to their work. We keep the name, work email, company, website and where we found them.
  • Technical data. Our hosting provider keeps standard logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to run and protect the website. We count page visits and button clicks with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you. Outside the UK, EEA and Switzerland, ad platforms also measure visits from their ads (see Cookies below).

Cookies and storage on your device

If you visit from the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, this website sets no cookies. The only thing stored on your device is your progress in the free Launch Readiness checklist, kept in your own browser so it is still there when you come back.

If you visit from anywhere else, we use advertising measurement from the ad platforms we advertise on: currently Reddit, and Google Ads if we use it. Their tags place cookies or similar identifiers on your device (for example _rdt_uuid for Reddit and _gcl_au for Google). These tell us which ads lead to visits and enquiries, so we can stop paying for ads that don't work. The platforms receive your IP address, browser details, the page you visited, the ad you clicked and whether you sent us an enquiry. They do not receive what you type into our forms. The identifiers last up to about 90 days. Reddit and Google may also use this data under their own privacy policies (reddit.com/policies/privacy-policy, policies.google.com/privacy), including to improve and personalise the ads they show.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage ad personalisation in your Reddit and Google account settings. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we do not load these advertising tags at all, and we treat that as your request to opt out of any "sharing" for advertising under US state privacy laws.

How we use it, and why we are allowed to

  • To reply to you and prepare a quote, because you asked us to (steps before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries). We may send you an automatic first reply about your enquiry or scan result.
  • To deliver work you buy from us and handle payments, invoices and records, to perform our contract with you and meet legal and tax obligations.
  • To run the free tools you use, to provide the service you asked for. Our security scan only checks apps whose owner has confirmed they own them or have permission.
  • To email businesses about our services, based on our legitimate interest in promoting our business, or your consent where the law requires it. Every such email says who we are and how to stop further emails.
  • To keep the website safe and working, and to understand which pages, campaigns and ads bring enquiries, based on our legitimate interests, or your consent where the law requires it.

We do not sell or rent personal information. Outside the UK, EEA and Switzerland, ad platforms measure visits from our ads as described above; we do not upload customer or contact lists to them. We do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects by automated means alone.

Who handles it for us

We use trusted service providers. Most process personal information only on our instructions; the ad platforms below also use it under their own terms:

  • Vercel (website hosting and cookieless analytics), United States.
  • Supabase (the database where enquiries are stored), United States.
  • Google Workspace (email, and the Google Sheet where each enquiry is added so we can track it).
  • AI assistants, such as Anthropic's Claude, which help our team read enquiries, run checks and draft replies.
  • Reddit (measuring which of our Reddit ads lead to visits and enquiries; Reddit also uses this data for its own purposes, see Cookies above), United States.
  • Google Ads, if we advertise there (the same purpose and terms), United States.
  • Upwork, if you hire us through Upwork, under Upwork's own privacy policy.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or with a buyer if our business is ever sold, under the same protections.

Where it is handled

We are a remote company. Our team works from Nepal and other countries, and our service providers store data mainly in the United States. When information is transferred out of the UK, the EU or another country with transfer rules, we rely on our providers' standard contractual protections (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum) or another lawful transfer basis.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and scan results that do not lead to work: up to 24 months after our last contact, then deleted.
  • Client records, contracts and invoices: as long as tax and accounting laws require, usually up to 7 years after the work ends.
  • Business contact details used for outreach: up to 24 months after our last contact. If you ask us to stop emailing you, we keep only your email address on a do-not-contact list so we never email you again.
  • Hosting logs and analytics: for the periods our providers set, usually a few weeks to a few months.

How we protect it

Enquiries are stored in a database that the website can only add to, not read from, and a copy is added to a private Google Sheet in our company Drive. Access is limited to the people on our team who need it. We never ask for passwords by email.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct it, or delete it;
  • stop or limit how we use it, or object to our use based on legitimate interests;
  • stop sending you marketing emails, at any time and free of charge;
  • send your information to you or another company in a common format;
  • withdraw consent you gave, without affecting what we did before.

Email info@pixelridgeweb.com and we will reply within one month (30 days for requests under Canadian and US law). We may need to confirm who you are first. We will not treat you differently for using your rights. To stop marketing emails, you can also simply reply "unsubscribe" to any email from us.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority, for example the UK's data protection regulator (the ICO), your national authority in the EU, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (or the Commission d'accès à l'information in Quebec), your state Attorney General in the US, the Data Protection Board of India, or the courts in Nepal. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Children

Our services and this website are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us information, email info@pixelridgeweb.com and we will delete it.

Changes

We update this notice when what we do changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters for information we already hold, we will tell the people affected.
